The meaning of Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which also promotes healing. This practice developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 20th century. Pronounced as Rey-Key is the combination of two Japanese words: Rei = Spiritual Wisdom and Ki = Universal Energy. This is the very same energy which makes up the universe, life force energy. We as humans are made up of energy! Reiki assists in the balance of mind, body and emotions.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing modality which is the use of hands on and off the clothed body by a Reiki Practitioner. The Practitioner who acts like a conduit sends subtle energy from the hands to the client. This healing modality can be facilitated for distance healing. Reiki is used to compliment medical treatments, and not to replace medical advice.
Hospitals are now using Reiki as holistic medicine to their patients as a choice to compliment medical treatments.
